Paul Garner, Co-ordinating Editor of the Cochrane Infectious Diseases Group and Director of the Effective Health Care Research Consortium, has been appointed a Member of the Editorial Board of PLOS Medicine for 2017.
The PLOS Editorial Board assists the staff editors in guiding priority topics. In addition, they act to improve the peer review and transparent reporting processes. Their involvement is needed by PLOS Medicine, alongside that of peer reviewers, to ensure that the journal “reflects the research community’s highest values of quality, ethics, and relevance to human health”. Paul has been working since the journal’s inception as a regular adviser and referee in malaria and other areas related to diseases of poverty.
