A number of stipends and bursaries are available to help consumers and other attendees based in developing countries to attend Cochrane Colloquium Edinburgh 2018.The stipends (funding you can apply for, if eligible) are to help cover registration, travel, accommodation, and other expenses associated with attending the 2018 Colloquium.

LSTM runs for second time DFID-commissioned primer course in systematic reviews
Bangladesh, Kenya, Myanmar, Mozambique, Nigeria, Uganda, Tanzania, and Scotland, UK: DFID health advisers from all corners of the globe came to Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine (LSTM) for a 2-day course on systematic reviews following their annual advisers meeting. This builds on the success of last year’s course, and aims to help advisers identify, appraise, and deliver accurate assessment of evidence for decisions.

'Meet the Editor' Ingrid Eshun-WIlson
In this instalment of the CIDG 'Meet the Editor' series, we talk with Dr Ingrid Eshun-Wilson who is a HIV clinician and epidemiologist based at Stellenbosch University in South Africa. Dr Eshun-Wilson has experience working with people living with HIV in low and middle income countries in both public health and clinical research settings. She completed a Masters in Epidemiology in 2009 and has worked coordinating primary HIV research projects in East Africa and as a family medicine doctor subsequent to this.&nb

Updated Cochrane Review on mini-primaquine: impact on transmission in the community remains unclear
A single dose of primaquine is thought to stop people with P. falciparum malaria infecting mosquitoes, which could help bring down malaria transmission. In this Cochrane Review update, prepared by an international team of researchers and co-ordinated through the Cochrane Infectious Diseases Group (CIDG) based at LSTM, the researchers added recent data to examine this question.
